Class Descriptions


Leveled Pole Classes

  1. INTRO TO POLE:

START HERE IF YOU’VE NEVER POLED BEFORE

First time students and up!

This 60 minute class was created for those brand new to pole. Absolutely no experience is necessary. The focus is on simple spins, working towards climbing, basic conditioning and learning to work with a new apparatus! Shorts and sleeveless shirts are recommended.

2. BEGINNER POLE I:

Prerequisite: Students who have taken at least 2 Intro classes. 

The focus of this class is on solidifying climbing technique, working towards inversions, and playing with leg holds, intermediate spins and basic combinations. This class is for those who've progressed beyond Intro level and are ready to hone the techniques needed to move into the more advanced classes. Shorts and sleeveless shirts recommended. Two Intro classes, experience at another studio, or teacher approval required to attend.

3. BEGINNER POLE II:

Prerequisite: Students who have taken at least 2 Beginner I classes.

If you want to work on chaining together fundamental movements, this is the place for you! We work mostly with two hands on the pole in our spins and will be putting movement together in flows that will help you feel fluent and comfortable on the pole whether you are really beginner and just a few classes in, or intermediate and inverting and you want to brush up on your fluidity and dance. I can always modify to challenge you with more advanced spins or new shapes in moves you already might know. 

4. INTERMEDIATE POLE I:

Requirement: The ability to climb and comfortably invert

This class begins to piece together the techniques covered in the beginner classes. The focus is seamless transitions from the floor onto the pole through inversions, spins, and multiple climbing techniques. Intermediate tricks, leg hangs, spin pole technique, and more complicated combinations will be taught. 

5. INTERMEDIATE POLE II:

Requirement: Be comfortable in your inversions, leg hangs, and climb

Wondering how to piece together the arsenal of tricks you've acquired? This class focuses on taking what you know to the next level. If you're ready to hit more complex combinations, looking to increase fluidity in your reportoire, and maybe learn some cool new tricks along the way, this class is great for you. 

6. ADVANCED POLE I: 

Prerequisite: Shoulder mounts, brass monkeys, aerial inverts.

This class is open to those ready to start building up a repertoire of complex tricks. An emphasis on body awareness, safety, and specified points of contact will allow students to flow through multiple advanced inversions, spins, and drops. Combinations will take students from the floor to the ceiling, encouraging usage of the 16 feet of pole we have at IncrediPole. The ability to climb to the ceiling with ease, comfortably invert in the air, and experience with spin pole required.

MIXED LEVEL POLE: 

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE NEW TO POLE

Mixed level classes are open for any students with prior pole experience.  Each individual will be taught their own level appropriate skills and combinations in the class.

MIXED LEVEL +:

Prerequisite: Must be able to invert and outside leg hang.

An open level pole class. We work on foundational to advanced technique, fluidity in transitions, and fun combos of varying levels. Each class will have a specific class plan, but students are encouraged to get creative, modify, and play with the material.

Familiarity with aerial inverts and basic leg holds is helpful. Not for absolute beginners.

SPIN POLE I: BEGINNER

Students who have taken at least 3 Intro classes. 

Take your basic pole technique skills for a spin! We will work on the fundamentals of how to use, control, and manipulate the speed  to our advantage while doing simple shapes, upright holds, and climbs. We focus on the horizontal force (versus the vertical as in static pole) in which your focus point, set, and spatial awareness is experienced differently. The idea of spinning pole is to use the natural force to help us prepare, transition and live in our moves with ease. Spinning pole technique is different than static pole, but just as fun and a great way to keep building your basic pole fundamentals to become a well-rounded poler!

SPIN POLE II: COMBOS

Students who are comfortable in Intermediate Pole I AND Beginner Spin Pole

This class is open for beginner to advanced students who are comfortable with basic technique including climbs and armpit holds. We will use your basic skills to further build fundamentals on the spinner pole, learn how to manipulate and control the speed of the pole, and get comfortable with transitions. Each class will consist of a short warm-up, a skill exercise and spinner pole combo. The focus with this class is to play with shapes, transitions, tricks, and timing. The combos are modified to the skill level of each student.

POLE CHOREO

Prerequisite: Beginner Level I or movement background

A fusion of aerial, ballet and contemporary, this pole choreography class style explores a wide range of expressive movements and syncopated rhythms.
This class is designed to work on finding the freedom in the use of movement while developing your technique and focusing on looking effortless.
Each class evolves to the learning of original choreography while focusing on flow, rich movement quality and mastering musicality.
** Other notes: Class is choreography based, including a full body warm up, and then a detailed breakdown of choreography.

FLOOREO: HEELS

This HEELS class is designed to help you step your p#*%y up.

Flows, clacks, splits, drops, dynamic tricks, elements of original choreo, as well as freestyle explorative play, and that’s just in the first sequence you learn ;) Be prepared to literally werk every part of your undercarriage out and sweat like there is no tomorrow.

Kneepads provided. Leggings, leg warmers, skin coverage all ok. Heels not required but encouraged.

FRIDAY FREESTYLE

Explore how to free flow (or float) with the music as you go, without having to have it figured out before hand. To "freestyle", or to improvise, is a skill, which can be daunting for some students and liberating for others. Regardless how you feel about it, this class will allow you to build on those skills by exploring a wide range of movement qualities through various prompts. Find magic in repetitions; play with texture, rhythm, space, shapes and more; and allow yourself to simply be all that you already are as a dancer.

If you love to move and dance, this class is for you. (Open for ALL levels)


 

THE SUNRISE TRIBE: OPEN LEVEL

Prerequisites: basic pole climb, pole sit and basic static spins

Start your day right! This is an open level, high energy pole fitness and dance class. You will condition the body, learn new tricks and experiment with fun flows and combos as Berna pushes you beyond your limits and fine tunes your pole movement vocabulary. Finish class feeling great and ready to conquer the day!

FLOW LAB

Prerequisite: 3 Intro to Pole classes, or movement background

This class focuses on fundamental elements of what makes movement connected, fluid, and cohesive. We will explore exercises & sequences that will pull you out of your head, and into your body.

We start with a 3 minute dance freestyle, learn movement prompts to incorporate into your dance, and use what we’ve practiced into 2-3 dance freestyles to end the class.

*Layers are HIGHLY suggested (leggings, leg warmers, knee pads, socks, and a t-shirt)

EXOTIQUE

Prerequisite: Beginner Level II or movement background

This class focuses on exotic and sensual dance elements of pole flow. The class will explore proper engagement in heels, dynamic in movement in low flow and on the floor, as well as provocative sequences what will allow one to connect to one own's musicality. *Layers are HIGHLY suggested (leggings, legwarmers, knee pads, socks, and a tee-shirt).

RUSSIAN EXOTIC

Prerequisite: Beginner Level II, or movement background

From Russia, with love! Expand your exotic movement repertoire with the dynamic power and flow that is Russian Exotic Pole Dance. Each week, we will have a different focus, varying between: choreography, threading a freestyle flow together, or experimenting with different tempos in one class.

Students taking this class should already have a solid foundation of basic spins, pole grips, and pole vocabulary. Strap on your favorite heels, and make sure to grab knee pads! 

HANDSPRING LAB

Prerequisite: Must be able to invert

Work on your ayeshas, handsprings, and Iron-Xs during this summertime pop-up lab. We'll cover strength drills as well as proper form and technique for safe and successful handsprings in a variety of grips.

FLOOR WORK SKILLS

Prerequisite: Students who have taken at least 2 Beginner I classes.

Students will work on shoulder stands, shoulder rolls, fish flops, kips, and a variety of ways to string them together.

Conditioning Classes

ARMS, ABS, AND INVERTS!

Our Arms, Abs, and Inverts! class is open to all levels.  Essentially it's a conditioning class geared towards strengthening the muscles needed to get upside down both on an apparatus and on the floor.  We focus on upper body and core strength through a warm-up, exercises on the pole and aerial hammocks, and hand/headstand on the mats and against the wall. The class is open to anyone looking for a killer workout full of strength training and inversions as well as pole students looking to hone their skills!

POLE STRENGTH TRAINING

Get motivated! This class focuses on getting your heart rate up, burning those calories, and feeling stronger in your body. Mixing dynamic and static drills on and off the pole, take YOUR body to the next level. Whether beginner or advanced, you will be challenged and energized.

FLEXIBILITY: OPEN LEVEL

Open Level Flex Class is designed for people of all levels of flexibility. The movement sequences can be modified based on the students range of motion. You'll improve your active and passive flexibility and build stamina. Class material varies based on the students requests.

Other Classes

VINYASA YOGA:

This class will be an open level Vinyasa yoga class that fuses vinyasa (flow) and Forrest Yoga together. There will be a warm up, ab work and sequences that help to build flexibility and strength!

LIQUID MOTION:

Liquid Motion is a method and style of movement that teaches seamless and natural movement quality by applying basic dance theory, fitness, conditioning exercises, and sensual movement exploration.

POLE SOCIAL CLUB:

Not for New Students

Open studio time allows students to drop in at their convenience to practice new moves, work on conditioning, and hone skills learned in class. This time is supervised, but not a teacher-led class. Open to all IncrediPole students, a basic level of pole experience is required.

AM OPEN AERIAL 

Start your day the boss poler way.  The time is yours - for either self-directed practice, or bring something to work on with the instructor. Finish out the hour with a group freestyle.
